Aging phenomenon happens; when the operating temperature is above 55°C, the ozone will decompose to generate the harmless oxygen, so the rubber will not be aging due to ozone.

When the temperature is low, the mobility of each component of the protective wax will be decreased, and the sprayed wax film is an alkane with a low carbon atomic number, and the crystalline wax film will be porous and loose. Due to the slow migration speed, the wax film formation speed will be slow and thin, and the ozone begins to erode the surface of the rubber before the wax film is formed, so it is difficult to protect the rubber protective wax against the ozone at low temperature.

At higher temperatures, since hydrocarbons with a low carbon number are dissolved in the rubber, the wax film will be formed slowly and thinly, making it difficult to form an appropriate protective film.

Rubber protective wax is a kind of selected paraffin wax and microcrystalline wax. The n-alkane crystals are large flakes and loose, and the ozone in the atmosphere easily penetrates the wax film to attack the rubber surface. When a certain amount of isoparaffin is added to n-paraffin, because the regularity of crystalline molecules is destroyed, a wax film with fine crystals, amorphous and dense can be obtained, thereby enhancing its ability to prevent ozone erosion, which is obvious.
